This detached property is currently home for five residents who all enjoy the homely and relaxing environment surrounding Burnham. As a small Home we recognise the importance of sharing and living in harmony which Burnham provides

The lounge at Burnham is the central hub of the Home. Residents, visitors and staff share this social environment which is light and airy with comfortable furnishings. This room is used for residents to enjoy a large variety of activities and board games. The lounge is further enhanced by an integral conservatory with views overlooking and providing access to the rear garden through french style windows.

The lounge is an ideal place to spend time – especially during social events! Burnhams Christmas party is not to be missed. The entertainment is planned months in advance and our residents, their families and our staff all enjoy the party atmosphere.

Four of the five bedrooms in the Home are situated in the main house. We have two rooms on the first floor, one of which has a balcony overlooking the rear garden. The home also has a semi-independent living unit attached to the house featuring two access points – one from the front drive at ground level and the other via French doors at the rear garden using a wheelchair ramp.

All accommodation at Burnham has en-suite facilities, which include flush floor showers, which are easily accessible using wheelchair/shower chair. The house has a passenger lift to the first floor.

Because Burnham has only 5 bedrooms this gives it a family atmosphere, with residents involved in menu planning, cooking and other daily activities with staff. We also cater for special dietary needs.

Burnham has a safe and attractive rear garden enjoyed by all residents and visitors. It is mainly laid to lawn, with well-stocked flower borders and flower pots which provide colourful displays during the summer months. There are also mature trees and several seating areas. Adjacent to the house is a patio area and also a covered shelter where the brick barbeque is situated, there is also a fish pond.

The garden is easily accessible via the conservatory or by the side entrance.

Our high staffing ratios enable us to respond to all our residents needs 24 hours a day.

Our own maintenance team ensures that Burnham avoids any major emergency or breakdown inconvenience. We undergo regular checks and carry out routine maintenance to all equipment and materials in accordance with the Health and Safety Executive.

Radnor Park, is nearby and offers Burnham residents easy access to the large open green area, with pleasant wheelchair accessible footpaths as well as duck ponds and also a fresh-water fishing lake and a bowls club. Folkestones Sports Centre, with its own swimming pool, gym and ski slope, are also close by. Radnor Park also provides regular entertainment with its boot-fairs, donkey derby, circus and funfairs.

Burnham is situated approximately one mile from junction 13 of the M20 motorway and within easy walking distance of the re-designed town shopping centre. Both Folkestones mainline Central and West railway stations are about a 5 minute walk away situated at either end of the nearby Shorncliffe Road. Bus services are also close by.
