Over the years, Tristford has developed into one of MNP’s most prestigious Homes offering care and accommodation for the “people” who enjoy the relaxing and spacious undertones of the original family environment

The large residents lounge is Tristfords main communal area. The high decorative ceilings reflect the character and period of build. The lounge is comfortably furnished and features an area where board games and activities can take place. Tristford boasts an ever-expanding DVD library offering a range of newly released films and classic movies, which are available for everyone to enjoy.

The lounge leads into a purpose built extension, which was designed to include a dining area where residents can enjoy the garden view. This modern extension also provides three additional bedrooms each with direct access into the garden via French doors.

All the bedrooms in the original building maintain the Edwardian architectural style that include arches, cornices and alcoves which add charm to this distinctive period of build and overlook either Radnor Park at the front or the tranquil garden setting at the back.

Each room is decorated, carpeted and furnished as chosen by the resident in situ – we strongly encourage this as it forms a huge part of the personalisation of our residents own space. All bedrooms have TV points and some residents have arranged their own private telephone/broadband connections.

Tristford has some of the largest and most unique rooms available in a private sector care home.

An 8-passenger carrying lift, provides independent access to the first floor rooms.

Tristfords kitchen has recently been fully refurbished. Every day our cook prepares delicious home cooked meals giving two standard options from which residents can choose their favourite. We also cater for special dietary needs with an appropriate variation.

Our bathrooms are large and offer a choice of standard bath access with hoist, side opening tilting bath, or shower which is accessible via shower/chair. This enables us to provide a very high standard of personal hygene.

Tristford has a very attractive, safe and enclosed rear garden, which is easily accessible by wheelchair through the French doors in the dining area. This garden has a patio area, with sun awning, and garden seating which is regularly used for relaxing and socialising. There is a lawned area with flower borders and additional flower containers, all of which display a beautiful array of colour during the summer months.

The garden is surrounded by mature conifer and deciduous trees. There is also a bird feeding station in the rear garden that attracts a wide variety of birds. This is thoroughly enjoyed and supported by our residents who take much delight in keeping an eye on the regular visitors. Barbeques are arranged during the summer.

Tristford has an on-site parking and loading area which ensures that our residents are safely able to board any transportation whether for a specific appointment or a group excursion. Short-term respite Care can be provided subject to availability. Our high staffing ratios enable us to respond to all our residents needs 24 hours a day.

Our own maintenance team ensures that Tristford avoids any major emergency or breakdown inconvenience. We undergo regular checks and carry out routine maintenance to all equipment and materials in accordance with the Health and Safety Executive.

Directly opposite the home is Radnor Park, well known locally for its regular entertainment of boot-fairs, donkey derby, circus, funfair and bowls club. Tristford residents are able to access this large recreational space easily by wheelchair. The footpaths lead to pleasant sitting areas, duck ponds, and a fresh water fishing lake. Folkestones Sports Centre, with swimming pool, gym, ski slope and cafeteria, are also close by.

Tristford is situated approximately one mile from junction 13 on the M20 motorway and within easy walking distance of the new town shopping centre. Folkestone boasts two mainline railway stations at either end on the nearby Shorncliffe Road and there are Local and National Bus services nearby.
